From Melbourne, there’s the stunning Daylesford region, home to 80% of Australia's natural springs. A popular spa retreat destination, the surrounds also boast a flourishing wine industry and a myriad of restaurants and galleries. Keen to jump in your Range Rover Evoque and head down the coast? The Great Ocean Road is one of the world's great drives and is dotted with picturesque coastal hamlets begging to be explored.
Heading west to Adelaide, and the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula is the ideal spot for a getaway. The legendary south-west Margaret River region can't be beaten for a weekend away from Perth. While waves and wineries were the original drawcards, recently the restaurants, resorts and retreats, art galleries and even breweries have all enhanced the experience. Much closer to Perth, Rottnest Island might just be one of the country's greatest treasures. Although mainly known as a family, fishing and fun times escape, don't let the reputation fool you. The bays and beaches are just stunning, the snorkelling and diving are world class, and there are plenty of high-end dining and retreat options if you do a little research.
