Land Rover grows Rugby partnership by backing the Aussie Women’s Sevens team’s drive for Gold

Land Rover is the latest brand to support the Australian Women’s Sevens team on their quest for back-to-back Gold, after today announcing an expansion of their existing partnership portfolio with Rugby Australia.

After signing on as the official vehicle of Rugby Australia and the Qantas Wallabies in 2018, the iconic Land Rover logo is now set to feature on the shorts of the Aussie Women’s Sevens team for their 2019/20 HSBC World Sevens Series campaign.

Rugby Australia Chief Commercial Officer, Cameron Murray said: “Land Rover has been an outstanding long-term supporter of Australian Rugby and they have grown this association further by partnering with the Australian Women’s Sevens team as they continue their preparations for Tokyo in 2020.

“It’s great timing for this announcement with the HSBC Women’s World Rugby Sevens Series expanding to eight tournaments in 2019/20, bringing it into line with the number of tournaments played in the Men’s Series.

“Our Women’s team, as the reigning Olympic Champions, are one of the shining lights in Australian sport and represent our country proudly here at home and overseas.

“The HSBC Sevens World Series continues to grow in popularity, and we thank Land Rover for getting behind the team ahead of such an important twelve months for the sport.

Mark Cameron, Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover Australia, said: “The team at Jaguar Land Rover are looking forward to joining forces with the Australian Women’s Sevens team as they approach their toughest test in an expanded eight-leg World Series in 2019/20.

“The Aussie Women’s Sevens team is one of the great stories in Australian sport and with our support of the Wallabies we feel that this announcement rounds out our partnership with Rugby in Australia perfectly.”

The 2019/20 HSBC Women’s World Rugby Sevens Series kicks off on October 5 in Glendale, USA, with a further seven tournaments to be played throughout the season, culminating in the HSBC Paris Sevens in May, 2020.
