Land Rover ran a competition to get Defender fans to reveal their most epic adventure in a 4x4. We received an incredible response, the stories were eclectic and inspiring, and revealed that the spirit of adventure is well and truly alive amongst our 4x4 enthusiasts.

From the many entries the top ten were chosen, and winners received an exclusive limited-edition Defender book. This hardcover book trails through the history of Defender, from its conception through to the much-anticipated 2020 return.

Here are our top ten entries, which share Land Rover’s adventurous spirit.

Tony Young
In 2017 we flew from Perth and picked a new Range Rover Sport in Launceston Tasmania and drove 15 days around Tassie and then home, 4500km across the Nullarbor. Photos at Lake Ballard, near Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

Rachel Conners
Taking Fendi and kids to the 150km radius restriction limit in Brisbane, QLD due to COVID lockdown - the Condamine Creek crossing! Kids <3 it!

Damian Lemon
Camping, up in the hills near Woodenbong. My Landy, family and the dogs, absolute heaven!

Vanessa Janss
From our tiny town of Mallacoota, we did the trek across to the West. Stopping in most places along the coast on the way (mostly to surf). Through Western Vic, Robe area, Yorke's Peninsula, Eyre peninsula, across the Nullarbor to Esperance, Albany, Denmark, finishing in Yallingup. Our favourite was around Esperance. The waves were pumping, and beach driving was epic. Here's our youngest, Hendriks, loving it.

Bambillo Torillo
Driving Stockton Dunes in torrential rain! Far from the typical sunny beach drive and hardly any visibility, but had a blast in my 90! (photo taken right before the heavens opened up!)

John Robertson
It was Coffs Harbour a few years ago. A bunch of Landies, a Disco with sticky tyres, a tree and a heavy right foot. Yikes!

Jason O’Donnell
Iceland. We experienced sleet, sunshine, snow and rain, with the payoff being this view of the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lake.

Silviana Dowle
Hubby’s dream came true when his 110 Defender arrived in 2015. He then drove across the Nullarbor, from Perth to Melbourne with our 2-year-old.

Sam Rees
Three mates and I took the 2020 Defender on a road trip to Noosa, QLD.... how could we not have an epic adventure?

Alastair Reed
Looking forward to getting my New Defender to sit next to my old Defenders. Drove this Defender all round Australia. Did 45,000km, no issue on all the iconic tracks.

Important note on imagery & specification. We are living through exceptional times. Due to the Covid pandemic we have been prevented or delayed in the creation of new images of current model years. Now the global impact of micro-chip shortages is further affecting build specifications, options and launch timings. Until this unique event settles, please note that many images cannot be updated to 22 model year specifications. Features, options, trim and colour schemes will differ from many images. Customers are urged to consult your local Retailer for detailed 22 model year specifications and do not base an order on marketing imagery and specification alone.

Jaguar Land Rover Limited is constantly seeking ways to improve the specification, design and production of its vehicles, parts and accessories and alterations take place continually, and we reserve the right to change without notice. Some features may vary between optional and standard for different model years. The information, specification, engines and colours on this website are based on European specification and may vary from market to market and are subject to change without notice. Some vehicles are shown with optional equipment and retailer-fit accessories that may not be available in all markets. Please contact your local retailer for local availability and prices.

‡‡Price shown is the manufacturers recommended drive-away prices (MRDP) which applies to the vehicle model and optional features selected in the vehicle configurator and as described in the configuration summary. The MRDP is an estimated price which includes the manufacturer's recommended list price, any associated registration fees, applicable taxes (including GST), levies and CTP insurances at the time of publishing in accordance with the applicable state / territory legislation where the Retailer is located for a 12 month period. The MRDP may vary as a result of differences in price components such as location, stamp duty or registration fees. CTP rate is based on a private owner aged 40 with 0 demerit points, no accidents or driving convictions and the vehicle being garaged in the postcode entered. Some information presented or used in the MRDP calculation is sourced from third parties. Jaguar Land Rover Australia has made every effort to ensure accuracy, however please contact your preferred Jaguar Land Rover Retailer to confirm your actual drive-away price which may vary according to your individual circumstances, including any trade-in value agreed between you and the Retailer.
