RANGE ROVER X RACHEL GILBERT:
WHERE LUXURY MEETS ARTISTRY, AND DESIGN TELLS A STORY.
In a meeting of artistry defined by sophistication, the Pre-Fall 25 Rachel Gilbert collection and Range Rover share a collection of shared values: exceptional craftsmanship, timeless design and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. The Rachel Gilbert Pre-Fall 25 Collection takes its cues from the modern traveller, particularly those chasing the northern hemisphere’s golden summers, offering pieces infused with a sense of movement, elegance and occasion.
Rich hues of deep purple and midnight blue are woven throughout the Collection, offset by luminous accents of silver and gold. These elements evoke an after-dark allure. Homage to the twilight moments that define our journeys and the stories we bring home.
Set against the refined backdrop of Range Rover, the collaboration is more than aesthetic. It’s a convergence of vision and values, where fashion meets form, and engineering embraces emotion. To delve deeper into the inspiration and alignment behind the partnership, we sat down with Rachel Gilbert herself.
What inspired you when designing your Pre-Fall 25 collection?
My design process is heavily inspired by a muse each season, a type of persona I imagine for the brand that correlates with the time of year. I picture who she is, what she is doing and where she is going. I designed Pre-Fall 25 for the traveller, who is pulled to different corners of the globe, escaping to the northern hemisphere for summer. I wanted to create a collection that reflected the after-dark allure that is integral to the brand in an ethereal way, exploring deeper tones of purples and blues with accents of silver and gold. It came together in a way where each piece serves as a tangible reminder for the moments celebrated along the way.
Can you share some insights into the craftsmanship that goes into creating the pieces in this collection, and how it parallels the meticulous craftsmanship of Range Rover vehicles?
Rachel Gilbert silhouettes are like wearable pieces of art. We work with global artisans who have been a part of the brand since its inception in 2007. Our craftsmanship is what is core to the brand—silhouettes internally constructed with corsetry and adorned meticulously with hand-placed and beaded embellishments, sometimes taking upward of 400 hours to create a single dress. It is a process that is at the heart of who we are. I resonate with the way Range Rover has the same values, bringing exceptional engineering and luxury together in a way that feels seamless for the one experiencing it. It's the details that aren’t visible to the eye that are complimented by design codes that bring it all together.
What personal touches have you added to this collection that you are particularly proud of?
I am always proud of each collection. This one has a few favourite pieces that feel like they particularly hero the brand’s DNA. One that comes to mind is the Kenny Gown—a silk wool gown that blends a fitted corset with a hand-draped voluminous skirt. Elegance with modernity.
How do you see the future of fashion and automotive design evolving together?
Fashion and automotive have a particular synergy that I’ve always resonated with—the way that each is an extension of your personal brand and style. As we progress as a society, I see both industries continuing to raise the bar on innovation and excellence. It’s about blending timelessness with modern appeal. Ultimately, I think it comes down to allowing your designs to deepen the connection with your consumer and meet them where they are.
A SHARED VISION
The involvement of Range Rover in the Pre-Fall 25 Collection extends beyond visual partnership. Filmed in a setting that speaks to both brands’ refined sensibilities, Range Rover served not only as a backdrop but as an extension of the collection’s ethos. Quiet strength, refined design and meticulous engineering reflect the same attention to detail found in Rachel Gilbert’s couture.
Rachel Gilbert draws a direct parallel between fashion design and automotive engineering, both requiring dedication to the unseen, the painstaking and the masterfully executed. It is this shared devotion to detail, even in elements not immediately visible, that elevates both brands and brings depth to their collaboration.
DESIGNING THE FUTURE
Looking forward, Rachel Gilbert envisions a future where design, be it in fashion or luxury automotive, deepens its emotional connection with people. Personalisation, innovation and a seamless blend of form and function will continue to shape how we experience luxury. It is a vision echoed by Range Rover, whose commitment to excellence continues to redefine the modern driving experience.
