DEFENDER PARTNERS WITH NEDD BROCKMANN - THE UNCOMFORTABLE CHALLENGE
PURPOSE IN MOTION
Defender proudly announced its partnership with Nedd Brockmann, embodying grit, purpose, and the relentless pursuit of pushing beyond limits. Defender and Nedd Brockmann have shared values and to make a tangible impact in Australia, Defender came on board as a Major Partner of Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge – a movement inspiring Australians to step outside their comfort zones and take purposeful action for those experiencing homelessness.
THE CHALLENGE THAT CHANGES LIVES
"There's no better feeling than pushing yourself to the limit and doing it not just for yourself but for someone else," says Nedd Brockmann. The challenge was run from 20 – 29 October 2025, the Uncomfortable Challenge invited individuals, gyms, schools, workplaces, teams, and run clubs to get uncomfortable and raise funds for people experiencing homelessness in Australia through We Are Mobilise.
REAL IMPACT, REAL CHANGE
The numbers tell a powerful story. In 2024, Nedd's Uncomfortable Challenge raised enough money to fund 370+ years of housing through the Mobilise Kickstarter programme. Every dollar makes a tangible difference: $36 provides one night of housing, $250 covers a week, and $1,000 funds an entire month. With cost-of-living pressures increasing across Australia, more people than ever need this support, and the Uncomfortable Challenge is delivering it.
WE SAT DOWN WITH NEDD BROCKMANN
To understand what drives this movement and how Defender played a role, we asked Nedd to share his thoughts on discomfort, growth, and purpose.
What inspired you to take on the NUC Challenge, and what did it represent for you personally?
"I took on NUC because with all the things I've done over the last few years, I've noticed that getting uncomfortable brings growth and maturity. It’s about awareness—understanding discomfort and where it takes you. Secondly, giving back more than you’re taking is a really good feeling; it’s twice as good as taking, I reckon. So to have those matched up and getting people to do their own uncomfortable challenge and feel what I feel is really special. That was the whole idea behind it: to get people to feel that. Seeing that happen for the second year is really cool. "
How did Defender support your journey – were there any moments where its performance made a real difference?
"This year with Defender’s support, it was very special. We were able to have the whole team in reliable, safe, and beautiful cars, which made the experience significantly better. All the flying didn’t need to happen because we could drive. Knowing we’d get to each destination reliably and in style was a real treat—thank you, Defender.
The moments where it made a huge difference were at the end of big days. Getting into an amazing vehicle after supporting everyone doing their own uncomfortable challenge was incredible. Everything was beautiful, and we were just so lucky to have their support."
What role did getting “uncomfortable” play in your growth throughout the challenge?
"Getting uncomfortable plays a massive role in everyone’s life when it comes to growing and learning about yourself. On this challenge, I got to see it from a bird’s-eye view and watch people get uncomfortable themselves. Observing that growth was really cool. For me personally, throwing yourself in the deep end is the greatest way to find out what you’re made of and commit to it."
What advice would you give to someone who’s hesitant to step outside their comfort zone?
"I’m not in the game of giving out advice, but from first-hand experience: when you commit to something and throw your whole heart and soul into it, you become one with what you’re trying to do. Nothing is good or bad—everything is just the way it is. The regret you’ll have from not throwing yourself in will be far worse than coming up short after giving it your all."
BUILT FOR THE CHALLENGE
From remote terrain to city streets, Defender is engineered to match Nedd's relentless determination and drive. Whether supporting his training runs across Australia's toughest landscapes or transporting equipment for community events, Defender stands ready to enable the mission. This partnership is about capability meeting purpose, where a vehicle built for the hardest journeys supports someone committed to the hardest challenges.
SHARED VALUES, SHARED MISSION
Resilience. Courage. Boldness. Defender and Nedd share a commitment to progress, no matter the obstacles. Both understand that comfort zones are places where growth stops and impact stalls. Both believe that true strength is measured not by what you achieve for yourself, but by what you enable for others. And both recognise that the path forward often requires embracing discomfort – whether that's terrain, distance, or the simple act of caring enough to act.
JOIN THE MOVEMENT
Whether you run, walk, cycle, or find your own way to get uncomfortable, the invitation stands: push yourself to the limit, not just for yourself, but for someone who needs a safe place to call home. Defender will be there, supporting every step of the journey – because some challenges are too important to face from the comfort zone.
