WE’RE THE NEW DEFENDER OF FUN AT THREDBO
Land Rover is now the official automotive sponsor of Thredbo Resort. And yes, we couldn’t be more stoked.
Already, a fleet of Land Rover Discovery and Discovery Sport vehicles have joined the crew at Thredbo, helping to put the finishing touches on the resort for when the chair lifts crank back to life and snowballs go flying.
Yes, it’s been a while since we hit the slopes, but with features like low range gearing*, active electronic differentials*, and hill descent control on the Land Rovers, it’s like we never left (remember, we helped build the Snowy Hydro, back in the day).
A little later in the season, the New Defender also joins the Thredbo crew.

BACK TO WHERE WE FIRST WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND
A little known fact: the extraordinary engineering feat of the Snowy Hydro Scheme succeeded due to a few factors; intelligence and ambition, the worker’s bravery and Land Rovers. Produced from 1948, these were the only vehicles capable of tackling the rugged terrain and became the backbone of the program. With over 300 in service with the Snowy Mountains Authority, it was lauded as the ultimate alpine car.
Thredbo is Australia's premier alpine resort. Voted Australia's Best Ski Resort in the World Ski Awards for three consecutive years, Thredbo boasts some of the best alpine terrain in the country and plays host to close to around 750,000 visitors each year.
So it’s time to dust-off those skis and snowboards, find those goggles, gloves and beanies, and we’ll see you here – hopefully in the style and comfort of one of our Alpine-capable Land Rovers.
No one is more excited by the partnership than Thredbo resort personalities, Captain Keen and Sergeant Stoked, who we are told are doing backflips in excitement after learning about the skier-friendly features of the Land Rover Vehicle line up.
Check Out Captain Keen and Sergeant Stoked as they take on the mountain in the Land Rover Discovery.
