PROUD SPONSORS OF THE QANTAS WALLABIES
Building on our rich heritage and deep connection to Rugby in Australia and internationally, we’re proud to announce a three-year partnership with the Qantas Wallabies, a renewed commitment to Brumbies Rugby, and at a Club Rugby level, bringing the Sydney University Football Club into the fold.
LAND ROVER SUPPORTS
Jaguar Land Rover is the presenting partner for the world’s largest international adaptive sporting event, the Invictus Games.
CAROLYNE DUFLEY, 32, YORKSHIRE
15-year Royal Logistic Corps veteran Carolyne had toured Iraq and Afghanistan before she suffered a spinal chord injury while practising judo. She credits the Invictus Games with giving her a focus and a stepping stone to overcoming the severe pain and loss of movement her injury has caused.
JONATHAN LE GALLOUDEC, 33, WESTBURY
Doctors told Lance Corporal Jonathan that he would never walk again after he was shot in the spine while serving in Basra in 2007. “Frenchie” proved them wrong, and his incredible determination saw him climb Everest in 2011.
DAVE SCOTT, 52, LANGHOLM
David, a retired Major, was hit in the leg by shrapnel while serving in Bosnia in 1993. After three knee replacements and 21 operations, he opted for an above-knee amputation in 2009. “Scotty” says competing at Invictus was like taking part in his own Commonwealth Games.
POLO IN THE CITY
Land Rover was extremely proud to once again be the presenting partner of Polo in the City. As part of the largest national polo series in the world, Polo in the City brought Australia’s professional polo players to the capitals, with thrilling matches played in urban, rather than rural environments – like Sydney’s Centennial Park, Melbourne’s Albert Park, and Adelaide’s Victoria Park.It was an ideal opportunity to experience one of the world’s most prestigious sports up close, and enjoy a day of distinct fashion, fine food and good company in the exclusive Land Rover marquee.
The Australian arms of Land Rover and Red Cross have worked closely together on a multi-tiered support program to reach Australians affected by natural disasters or other emergency assistance requirements.
